Pebbly Beach, 3 hours South of Sydney, is famous for its tame kangaroos and rosella birds.
After flying over the South-East corner of Australia, we had fish and chip lunch in Eden, then drove up to Merrimbula. We spent the day on the beach sunbaking and surfing, then checked into a nearby hotel. The next day we headed North to Sydney, stopping briefly at Pebbly Beach.
Pebbly beach is famous for its tame kangaroo population. While feeding them is not encouraged, they will happily take food from your hand and let you pat them or pose next to them for pictures. They tend to congregate on the grass strip near the car park, though, usually staying away from the beach. The roo above suprised us all by hopping across the sand and into the water where it stayed, checking out the surf, for a few minutes before bounding away again.
I was sunbaking on the sand when the kangaroo hopped by, I immediately jumped up, grabbed my camera and set off after him… along with most of the beaches kids. I was lucky to get the shot above, by this time there were around 30 screaming kids surrounding the poor guy…. he stayed in this position for a minute or two then hopped away into the bushes…..
Good website about Birds Wallpaper are not that easy to find. It is sometimes amazing to see the diversity of opinions on that subject. I congratulate you on the work you have done on your blog because it is not always simple to maintain and update. Thx for the information!
