Spent last week in Melbourne visiting my Dad… got a couple of chances to go to the beach, including a night at a restaurant in St Kilda. I took this picture on St Kilda beach just as the sun was going down. We had some crazy weather over the week, including a huge hail storm that flooded the cbd and caused damage to houses and cars.
Created page on Beachwiki.org for Holloways Beach, which is just north of Cairns. I was there last year for a short break.
Other pages added recently include - Park Beach, Coffs Harbour and Wategos Beach, Byron Bay
Tamarama is a very popular beach 7km (4mi) South of Sydney, in New South Wales, Australia. It is a small sandy beach surrounded by rocky cliffs common to the Sydney coastline. Behind the beach is a nice grassy park, along which is a concrete path, part of the Bondi to Bronte coastal walk.
Tamarama is an ocean surf beach, the middle of which faces South-East. Access to the beach is by car, bus or walking from Bronte or Bondi.
Whatago’s Beach, Byron Bay After surfing Coffs Harbour we had breakfast at the surf club, watching a pod of dolphins swim up the shore… We visited an Autobarn and replaced the radio fuse, but it blew again straight away.. ended up plugging my iphone into a set of computer speakers to keep us going… From Coffs we drove North, stopping at the Yamba Breakwall. The surf was much larger here, but not as clean. After an hour or so we got tired of it and continued North, arriving at Byron Bay a couple of hours before sunset. We found a good place to stay right on the beach, then checked out the Pass which was small and crowded. Whatago’s was better, but only just. We caught some good, small waves before dinner and beer at the Byron Bay Hotel. After I got out of the surf I made one of the guys, Boe stay in for a bit so I could get some photos.. you can see him in the above shot in the distance… I will try some close up shots tomorrow…
Park Beach, Coffs Harbour From Foster we drove North to Old Bar,, one of the beaches we have wanted to check out for a while but never got around to it… in this case we shouldn’t have bothered. We initially planned to stay in Port Macquarie, but then thought we would be better off getting some distance North,, so drove up to Coffs Harbour. We had a quick surf at sunset then went out for steaks and beers at the bowls club… were we were treated to a tropical lightning storm. The Next morning we got up at sunrise and surfed the main city beach at Coffs.. Park Beach,, which had surprisingly good clean 3ft waves. My friend Boe has talked me into getting a new board after seeing the work I have to put in to catch some of the smaller waves… he has a newer design that gets onto the smaller waves much easier. We plan to go to Byron next,,, I will shop around there,,,,
Nobbys Beach, Newcastle Haha.. Im stuck in a hotel room in Newcastle by myself, watching a show I wouldn’t normally that Im quickly getting addicted too… if you know which one, then you are probably addicted too.. so sad… Arrived in Newcastle around 5 and checked into the Ibis.. after driving around would have preferred the Crowne.. it has a better position on the Harbour… Around sunset I walked down to the Harbour and did some fishing with my new Shimano Telescopic rod.. until I got chased off by the fishing inspector.. I need to get my license renewed!! From the Harbour I walked down to Nobbys, where I took this picture… I will be back here tomorrow morning after picking up the guys from the airport, as the surf is pretty good here, at least 3-4 ft.
