Every year in November the beach walkway from South Bondi
all the way to Tamarama, close to a kilometre of shoreline,
is home to Sculpture by the Sea, an outdoor art exhibition
that runs for 2 weeks. During this time over a hundred sculptures
are displayed along the coastal strip, sometimes as stand
alone pieces, sometimes using the natural landscape as part
of the overall effect.
The sculpture above was part or the 2003 exhibition and sat
on the cliffs near Tamarama.. I think it was titled 'People'
Bondi Beach - The sculpture above was situated at the little
alcove atop the staircase the leads from South Bondi to the
main coastal walkway. I believe it was called Masks, it was
exhibited in 2002.
The piece below is called 'Identity', by Ben Grant &
Justin Buchta, it was constructed from recycled turpentine
wharf poles, displayed 2003.
