I went over to work in NZ for a few days when I was informed I needed to stay longer to help sort out some issues. This was a problem for 2 reasons…a.. Id only packed for a couple of days and b. I was supposed to fly to Fiji on Friday with my fiancee. Why is this a problem? I hear you echoing my boss… isnt NZ actually closer to Fiji than Sydney as everyone who has installed Google Earth well knows!? Wouldnt it actually be easier to fly from Auckland to Fiji instead of Auckland-Sydney-Fiji?
Hmmmz… well yes and no. I pictured my fiancee’s pretty face and the frustrated look she got as I begged her for the hundredth time to let me tag along to Fiji on her work jaunt, finally wearing her down, then the look she would have when I told her she would be doing all the packing/shopping etc.. and I would maybe drop by after work when she was all settled into the hotel room… no, wouldnt fly.. id be swimming back.
Soo.. I made my apologies and left NZ on Thursday, got back to Syd Thursday night, Packed/Shopped (Funnily enough my required participation level in both was fairly low), then we flew out to Nadi on Friday Morning.
Anyways..As I was saying the Fi-yonce was over there for ‘work’ for the third time.. and I had finally managed to get my self written onto the ticket on the proviso that I lay low and dont get in the way of her important ‘work’.. She even rented me a car for the duration, hoping, I guess, that I would find ways to amuse myself.
Well.. turns out I was tired from all my work in NZ.. not to mention all the traveling id been doing and was actually quite happy spending my time lounging around the 5 star Sofitel resort, doing exactly nothing. She was also surprised to find me exactly where her group was at meal and drink times…(they always picked up the tab)…. it was nearly like I was reading her schedule ahead of time and planning my extremely lazy day around them. Even going so far as to impersonate one of them to get a free massage,,,,
Anyway… I took the picture above at sunset on the first day from the Sofitel’s little front beach. Apparently, you can kayak out to the island in the picture and snorkel if you want… i had hard enough time finding the energy to walk from the pool to the bar, but it was good knowing the option was there….
I put a good moving flash scene of the above sunset in the new Beachwallpaper Screensaver which you can download from link below.
