This is the last instalment for my August trip to Western Australia. By amazing coincidence Im leaving for another trip tomorrow.. this time a short visit to Melbourne. I’ve taken plenty of beach pictures in Melb before, but no video, which I want to add to the beach info pages on my site Beachwiki.org.
The first two pictures here are of Lancelin, which is a couple of hours north of Perth. I was impressed by this place, and will return again one day to explore in more detail. There is an interesting island a kilometre or so offshore that I would like to visit too.
From Lancelin I drove down to Seabird (last pic), which I had wanted to visit since seeing the name on the map. I had assumed it was named for the local seagulls or something, but it turns out it was named for a ship that was wrecked nearby. Presumably the ship was named after seagull or the like, so I wasn’t far off.
